teenager

My, oh, my. I have a teenager. Curren James turned 13 on May 2nd. I am SO proud of my first born. He is smart (great at math, just like his mama), a good big brother to his siblings that ADORES his baby sister, loves to play basketball, and is a talented runner. Plus, he's just a good lookin' kid. Every year that goes by just shocks me. He is finishing up his 7th grade year. 8th grade next year. and then high school. Seriously - where has the time gone. Curren always thinks he needs to be daring - in this picture, he climbed on the outside of the bridge - the water is probably at least 15-20 feet down. Even though he doesn't like to admit it, I think he likes taking pictures with me. I sure enjoy the one-on-one time with my first born. He's a sweet kid, with a tender heart, aiming to please. With just 5 years before he leaves for college, he's got big dreams - say's he's going to North Carolina, or Stanford, or somewhere else far away. Too bad for him, I've already got his life planned out - UNI, get a good job in the Cedar Valley, get married, live in Denver, and raise his grandkids close to home, so he can still watch his siblings grow up too. :) Or maybe not. I guess I'll let him decide when the time comes - and it'll be here before we know it! Happy 13th birthday, Curren. Love you!
